Category of learning levels (or grading system )

Zero	0=Total Beginner	With absolutely no experience or knowledge about Chinese language. Cannot even say "Hello" or "Thank You" in Chinese
Basic	1=Beginner User	Understand and use a few simple characters and sentences to communicate
	2=Intermittent User	Can use Chinese in a simple and direct manner in the daily life
Intermediate	3=Limited User	Can fulfill most of the communicative needs students experience in China, such as in their personal lives, studies and work
	4=Modest User	Can discuss a relatively wide range of topics in Chinese and are capable of communicating with Chinese speakers at a high standard
Advanced	5=Competent User	Can read Chinese newspapers and magazines, watch Chinese films and are capable of writing and delivering a lengthy speech in Chinese
	6=Expert User	Can easily understand any information communicated in Chinese and are capable of smoothly expressing themselves in written or oral form
