The Art of Seeing
- Street Photography in Beijing
Discover Beijing as a photographer and not as a tourist with BCP instructors. This workshop is suitable for serious amateur photographers keen to discover new ways of seeing and composing their shots.
This workshop is ideally suitable for LEICA M8 and M9 digital users or aspiring owners, perhaps coming from a film M, or DSLR background. While shooting digital will be more beneficial to speed up your learning process, this workshop may also be adapted to leica film camera users.
This one-to-one workshop is designed to expand your photographic capabilities and techniques. The relationship is of two photographers, apart from a tutor / pupil relationship. Your instructor will accompany you along this journey as a mentor offering advice, tips and new technical perspectives, and new ways to see, on top of looking for photography moments and capturing them. There will be fluidity that allows your instructor to respond to what happens along the way, customize and teach you new things as it goes.
What we will cover:
(1) Rangefinder camera know-hows, user tips and techniques, workflow solutions, working with RAW files and JPEGs, image enhancement and more. For Leica film camera users, we can include a darkroom session on-demand.
(2) The approach to street photography and how to capture decisive moments in face-to-face training sessions.
Participants will learn how to shoot hyper focal with the rangefinder and how to capture decisive moments unobtrusively.
Travel photographers will learn the art of seeing, capturing familiar city structures, events, and landmarks that give Beijing its unique personality.
The course is available for as a one-to-one personalised class, we can also arrange small group workshops.
